William J. Cassling, 79, of East Moline, IL, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Genesis-East, Davenport, IA.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Burial will be at Moline Memorial Park, Moline, IL. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday, June 3, 2024, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family to be designated later.

William was born May 23, 1945, in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Yngve and Irene (Edwards) Cassling. He married Janice K. Rynard on December 9, 1972, in East Moline. She preceded him in death on June 29, 2016.

He was an Iowa Air National Guard veteran and worked in auto parts sales for many years. He loved drag racing, car shows, and golfing.

Surviving are his son, Eric Cassling, of East Moline; and nephew, Patrick McGhee, Tucson, AZ.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice; parents, Yngve and Irene; and his sister, Mary McGhee.
