William Weiss, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and devoted friend, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2025, at the age of 85. He was born on February 13, 1939, in Clarion, Iowa, and was a lifelong resident of Hampton, Illinois, and a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. William dedicated his career to Case IH for 38 years, where he served as a General Foreman, earning the respect of his colleagues and fostering a sense of camaraderie among his team until he retired in 1999. A man of great passion, he was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears and the Fighting Illini. William also found joy on the golf course, where he was an esteemed member of the Golfmohr Golf Club in East Moline. He enjoyed traveling in his "66" Mustang convertible. Those left to cherish his memory include his fiance, Sharon DePorter Loding; sons, Danny (Jymmi) Weiss, Dennis (Beth) Weiss, and Doug (Melinda) Weiss; grandchildren, Casey (Rachael) Weiss, Holly (Ben) Makla, Cody (Megan) Weiss, Madison (Thomas) Danhof, Elisabeth Weiss, Cade Weiss, Isabella Weiss, and Sarah Weiss; great-grandchildren, Lucas, Rian, Boone, and Fischer; and sister, Betty Baff.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mary Ann, and brothers, Charles, Byrl, and Harold.

A funeral service to celebrate William's life will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. The family invites all who knew and loved William to join them for visitation from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at the funeral home as we gather to remember a man whose kindness, laughter, and spirit touched the lives of many. Burial will take place at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, where military honors will be presented. Memorials may be made in care of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
