William J. Marineau, 82, East Moline, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Genesis Medical Center-Illini Campus, Silvis, just 88 days after his wife Lois passed. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3PM on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. The family will greet friends from 2 until service time. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Diabetes Association. Bill was born August 29, 1928 in Marinette, WI, the son of William and Margaret Huebner Marineau. He married Lois Rondeau on August 19, 1950 in Marinette. After 60 years of marriage, Lois died on March 19, 2011. Bill began his career in sales with the bakery division of Anheuser Bush, and eventually retired from Best Brands in the early 1990's. Bill enjoyed many years of traveling with his wife and special friends. He found enjoyment in family gatherings, especially time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bill was a member of the Moline Viking Club and a life member of Golf Mohr Golf Course, Hampton. He enjoyed the game of golf and was a Chicago Cubs fan and a Green Bay Packers fan. Survivors include his children (spouses); Gary (Luann) Marineau, Rock Island, Deb (Jim) Welling, East Moline and Kathy (Gene) Schroeder, Hampton; grandchildren (and spouses), Scott, Nicole (Matt), Justin (Leesa), Darin and Mike (Rianne); great grandchildren, Daniel, Cayson, Ryne, Colin and Bailey, sister Peggy (Marv) Patz, Peshtigo, WI, brother Russ (Ann) Marineau, Naperville, IL, sister-in-law, Ruth (Frank) Kellner, Menominee, MI, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
