Funeral services for William "Bill" Pierce Sr., 69, of Moline, IL, will be 10:00AM Tuesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Burial will be in the National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00PM Monday at the funeral home. Bill died Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at the Greater Peoria Specialty Hospital, Peoria, IL. Memorials may be made to the Race for the Cure or the Gilda's Club Quad Cities. Bill was born August 8, 1940 in Parker Township, MN, the son of Harry and Hazel Klinker Pierce. He served in the US Army. He married Norma Irene Cook October 8, 1960 in Miami, OK. He later married Karen (Peters) Nordquist November 23, 1991 in the Little Brown Church in the Vale, Nashua, IA. He retired from the Case/IH Plant, East Moline. He loved attending his grand children's sporting events. He enjoyed making outdoor furniture, gardening, hunting, and fishing. Survivors include his wife, Karen Pierce of Moline; children, Vickie (Martin) Rodriguez of East Moline, Leanna Pierce of East Moline, Diana (Melecio) Aguilar of Carbon Cliff, Teresa Pierce of East Moline, William "Bill" (Krystal) Pierce Jr. of East Moline; step-children, Todd (Kim) Nordquist of Adel, IA, Michelle (Karl) Lewis of Rock Island, Natalie (Ron) Farwell of Orion; 16 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Colleen Duncan of Little Falls, MN, and Marilyn (Bruce) Shorter of Little Falls, MN; brothers, Dick (Bitsy) Pierce of Motley, MN, Bob (Sandra) Pierce of Olathe, KS. He is preceded in death by his parents, infant brother, James, and grandchildren, Grant and Alex.
