William Edward Polek, 63, of Hampton, IL, went to his Lord on May 6, 2006. He died suddenly at home of a heart attack. Visitation will 5-8 PM Wednesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., where a rosary will be recited at 4:00 PM. Funeral services will be 10:30AM Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hampton, IL. Burial will be in Hampton Cemetery, Hampton, IL. William was born October 4, 1942 in Moline, IL, the son of Thomas C. and Helen I. (Grajewski) Polek. He married Judith A. Schonrock on January 11, 1964, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Moline, IL. He was employed at International Harvester-Tenneco for 31 years, retiring in March 1993. He was employed part-time at Porters RX, Hampton until his death. He served in the US Army from 1966 to 1968, stationed at Ft. Meade, Maryland. William enjoyed day trips to flea markets with his wife, and working crossword puzzles. He is survived by: his wife of 42 years, Judy Polek of Hampton, IL; his beloved daughter, Tara Ann Polek of East Moline, IL; his mother, Helen I. Carpenter of Moline, IL; sister, Judy "Buzzy" Jones of Illinois City, IL; brothers and sister-in-law, Jim Carpenter of Silvis, Steve and Corinne Carpenter of Silvis, IL; several nieces and nephews.
