Funeral services for William "Bill" Skiles, 74, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00 AM Friday, August 23, 2024, at Christ United Methodist Church, East Moline. Visitation will be 4:00–7:00 PM Thursday, August 22, 2024, at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Private committal services will be held at Greenview Memorial Gardens. Mr. Skiles passed away Sunday, August 18, 2024, at Genesis Silvis.

Bill was born July 22, 1950, in Moline, IL, the son of Garrett and Laura Lefever Skiles. He was a proud graduate of United Township class of 1968. He married Linda "Lin" Dyer March 27, 1999, in Moline. He was a member of the Optimist, a member of Fin and Feather Club, and Prairie Rod and Gun. He was an established recruiter for various trucking companies. He was the proud founder of Skiles Driving School and taught hundreds of teenagers to drive. Bill will be forever remembered by his stories and witty sense of humor. He was always the first to offer a helping hand and it would only take 20 min. You could often find him at the movie theater with his grandchildren. He loved hunting, fishing, and camping but most of all he loved mowing grass. You could find him in the corner booth at East Moline McDonalds every morning with his friends solving all the world's problems.

Survivors include his wife, Lin Skiles, East Moline; children, Shane (Heather) Skiles, Rock Island, and Brandi (Adrian) Madunic, East Moline; step children, Jeff (Cynthia) Dyer, AR, Angie Dyer (Joe Johnson), Colona, and Nick Dyer, East Moline; 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; siblings, Janice Marlier, Moline, Connie (Tom) Van Gerpen, Bettendorf, and Jackie (Pete) Viren, Silvis; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded by his parents, and brother in law, Gary Marlier.
