William Fred Womac, 73, Moline, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at his home. Funeral services are 12 Noon Tuesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is from 11 AM until service time. Fred was born September 18, 1941 in Charleston, TN, the son of Henry T. and Effie (Green) Womac. He married Joanne Koester on April 15, 1961 in LaFayette, GA. He retired in 1992 from the former Case IH, East Moline. He was a proud member of the union local 1304, enjoyed NASCAR and hot rods. In earlier years his handle on the CB was Running Bear. Mr. Womac loved his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Joanne, sons, William Fred (Marcia) Womac Jr., Orion, and Troy (Teresa) Womac, Rockford, IL, grandchildren, Gunnar, Gage, Taylor, Emily and Maggie, and a sister Margaret. He was preceded in death by his brother Roy.
