Obituary

Funeral services for Wilma Mae (Bell) Duhlstine, 84, Rock Island are 10 AM Friday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Visitation is 4-7PM Thursday at the funeral home. Wilma died Saturday, January 17, 2009 at Manatee Memorial Hospital, Bradenton, FL. Memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, Rock Island. Wilma was born September 12, 1924 in Grand Junction CO the daughter of Warren and Mabel (White) Hetherington. She married Robert E Bell on December 29, 1950. He died March 9, 1991. In 1962, Wilma graduated from Twinkles Beauty School in Kewanee, IL. She was owner and operator of Wilma's Beauty Shop in Kewanee for 35 years. She married Francis Duhlstine on December 16, 1997 in Kewanee, IL. He preceded her in death on May 12, 2006. Wilma became an honorary member of the Kewanee Women's Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 2002. She enjoyed bowling, bike riding, playing cards with her friends and wintering in Florida for six months each year. She was a member of Quinsippi Sam's Camping Club. Those left to honor her memory include two step-sons; Michael Duhlstine of Port Orange, FL and Bruce Duhlstine of Milwaukee, WI, a step-daughter; Coralyn Duhlstine Feeney of East Moline, IL; two step-grand-daughters, brothers; Donald K Hetherington of Fulton, MO and Robert L Hetherington of Ft. Wayne, IN and sisters Gerry Hetherington and Maxine Fulton of Sun City, AZ, and Mildred Maupin of Fulton, MO and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her husbands Robert and Francis, she is preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and 3 brothers.
