Yula L. Kravens, 87, of Moline, IL, died Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at Rosewood Health Care Center, Moline, IL. Visitation is 2-4PM Sunday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Graveside services are 9AM Monday at Rock Island National Cemetery. A memorial has been established. Yula Laurick was born November 14, 1921 in Moline, IL, the daughter of Charles and Antoinette (Muskus) Laurick. She married Albert "Porter" Kravens September 9, 1944 in East Moline, IL. He died September 27, 1997. She had worked for Illinois Bell Telephone, East Moline state Hospital, and the East Moline Correctional Center. She had been a member of the East End Bolders Club, Croation Crest Club, Plus 60 Club, Moline Activity Center, and the East Moline Township Center. Survivors include her son: Richard Kravens and his fiancé Beverly Atwell of Moline; sister, Stella Jackson of Milan; brother, Adolph Laurick of Moline, sister-in-law, Dorothy Laurick of Moline, several nieces and nephews including Diane Jackson of East Moline, and special friends Florence Hall of Silvis, and Rose Grafton, East Moline. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
