Yvonne D. Mercer, 91, East Moline, passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. A memorial visitation will be from 1-3PM Saturday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, with a time of sharing at the conclusion.  In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the World Service Organization or to the East Moline Public Library.

Yvonne Helm was born on April 4, 1930 in Elgin, IL, the daughter of Ora Blaine and Lauretta (Schuldt) Helm. She graduated from Davenport High School. She was an X-ray technician for 34 years at the former Illini Hospital, Silvis. She also spent 6 years in the advertising department of Deere & Co. Yvonne enjoyed reading and playing bridge. She loved attending jazz music events and volunteered many years for the Bix Music Festival. Yvonne was a grateful member of Saturday Serenity Al-Anon Group.

Survivors include her children; Meaghan Barnett, Colona, Nolen Devlin, Rock Island and Aran Reddig, Colona, stepson, Roy (Jean) Mercer, Geneseo, ten grandchildren, 6 Great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law Rose and brother-in-law John Mercer, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sons, Jordan and Shannon and siblings; Don, Jackie and David.

The family would like to thank those who provided great care to Yvonne over the past many months.
