Beverly "Bev" A. Saelens

Funeral services for Beverly A. “Bev” Saelens, 95, of East Moline, will be 11 am Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis, IL. Visitation will be 9-10:30 am Wednesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Mrs. Saelens passed away Friday, January 20, 2023, at the Kahl Home, Davenport, IA.

Beverly LaCrosse was born June 25, 1927, in Waterloo, IA, the daughter of Louis and Anna Coughlin LaCrosse. She married William J. Saelens April 7, 1951, in Moline, IL. He passed away November 25, 1998. She began her career as a Registered Nurse at Lutheran Hospital, Moline, specializing in Operating Room Nursing. She was then recruited to Moline Public Hospital to manage and improve their Operating Room Technicians Program and was the instructor for 10 years. She was a talented seamstress and crocheter. She had a thirst for learning her whole life. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Survivors include her children, Trish Saelens, Bettendorf, IA, Michael (Leslie) Saelens, Clinton, WA, Thomas (Maggie) Saelens, Bettendorf, Bill (Joni) Saelens, Bettendorf, and Mary Ann (Ron) Morgan, Arlington, TX; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and siblings, Patrick (Karen) LaCrosse, Portland, OR, and Rose Ann (Luiz) Britto, Brazil.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Christopher Saelens; and siblings, Jean LaCrosse and Tom LaCrosse.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, The Kahl Home, or for masses.
