Cheryl R. Geiken, 75, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2024 at Clarissa C, Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 13, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, IL, where visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
Cheryl was born August 3, 1948, in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, a daughter of Verle and Merle (Managh) Noel. She graduated from Moline High School. She married Roger L. Geiken in November 1990 in Moline, IL.
She was a hair dresser and owned Renaissance Plus Costume Shop in Moline and East Moline.
She enjoyed making quilts, ceramics, making porcelain dolls, teaching doll making classes, crafting miniature doll houses, and costume design.
Cheryl was particularly proud of her seven children, including triplets born to her in 1996.
Surviving are her husband, Roger, of Davenport; children, Laura (Donald) Anderson, Wendy (Todd) Shiflet, Jason Dyer (fiancé Maylin), Brittany Geiken (Kody Peterson), Courtney Geiken (Enrique Alameda-Basora), and Derek Geiken; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Lamb, Kristin Shiflet, Mary Anderson, Elliott Dyer, Gabriel Dyer, Isabella Dyer, and Frank Gutierrez; sister, Janice Desmond, New Zealand; brother, Graham Fletcher, New Zealand; sister-in-law, Brenda Getting; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dennis (Velda) Geiken; and many nieces, nephews, and additional family.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her son, Andrew Geiken; parents, Verle and Merle; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Madaline and Willard Geiken; and brothers-in-law, Jim Getting and Larry Geiken.
