Darrell W. Harmening

Funeral services for Darrell W. Harmening, 64, of East Moline, IL, will be 10 AM Thursday, November 9, 2023, at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation will be 4-8 pm Wednesday November 8, 2023, at the funeral home. Mr. Harmening passed away Monday, October 30, 2023, at MercyOne Clinton Medical Center.

Darrell was born August 1, 1959, in Moline, IL, the son of Donald and Dorothy Sullivan Harmening. He married Marilee Hacker September 19, 1998, in Rock Island, IL. Darrell was currently working for R+L Carriers, Davenport, IA.

Darrell graduated from United Township High School in 1977. He loved racing under the number 22 at local dirt tracks for many years. He was formerly a scuba instructor and later a golf enthusiast. In his free time, he enjoyed working on his 1959 Ford (despite being a Chevy guy), and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Marilee Harmening, East Moline; daughters, Anna Harmening, Moline, and Regina Harmening, East Moline; mother, Dorothy Harmening, East Moline; siblings, Diane "Rusty" Harmening, East Moline, Dana Beachler, Colona, IL, and Daniel “Buck” Harmening, Oak Ridge, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Audrey Harmening; father; and brother-in-law, Thomas Beachler.
