Elwood Kenneth "Woody" Hill, Jr.

Elwood Kenneth Hill, Jr (“Woody”), 82, of East Moline, Il passed away peacefully at home on January 17th, 2023. 

Funeral Services will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 21, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Private Interment will be in Moline Memorial Park, Moline. Memorials may be made to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation.

Woody was born October 3rd, 1940 in Moline, Il.  He graduated from Rock Island High School in 1958.  He met Roberta Fanter at Bituminous Insurance where they both worked, and they married in 1960.  Woody was employed at Bituminous Insurance for 46 years, working his way up from a mail room clerk to IT Operations Manager. 

His hobbies included fishing, hunting and family camping trips.  He was happiest when he had a project to do and was working with his hands.  He could often be seen outdoors doing yardwork, building something, or working on various home improvement projects on his house or on his children’s homes.

Woody is survived by his four children, Dianna Hill, East Moline, Ken (Janet) Hill, Port Byron, Sharon (Ricky) Duarte, Tubac, AZ, Robert (Chrissy) Hill, East Moline, his sister Patti Salyers (Carol Tarr), Milan, brother Brad (Sue) Hill, Rock Island, and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Hill, Edgington. 

Woody was a doting grandfather of eight:  Alyssa, Ryan, Murphy (Daltin), Louis, David, Rebecca, James, and Sarah, as well as great-grandfather to Vivienne, Nathan, Elijah, and Elliott.

Woody was re-united in heaven with Roberta, his wife of 61 years.  Also, his parents Elwood, Sr and Patricia Hill and his brother Bruce Hill.
