Obituary

Graveside services for Fern D. “Lois” Sheley, 90, of Silvis, IL, will be 11:30 AM Wednesday at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, IL. Visitation will be 9-11 AM Wednesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Mrs. Sheley passed away Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA.

Lois Rich was born September 22, 1932, in Coal Springs, MO, the daughter of Arthur and Arbell Moody Rich. She married Richard E. Sheley October 10, 1976, in Rock Island, IL. She had worked as a caregiver for many years.

Survivors include her son, Gary (Linda) Pettyjohn, Myrtle, MO; stepchildren, Kathy (Tim) Hughes, Port Byron, IL, Joyce Bryant, Kewanee, IL, and Don (Lori) Sheley, Port Byron; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael Sheley; great-grandson, Charlie DeGrange; and 13 siblings.

Memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.
