Funeral services for Glenn Steven Hazlewood, 54, of Moline, IL, will be 10:30 am Thursday, June 8, 2023, at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, IL. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 am until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Hazlewood passed away June 1, 2023, in Rushville, IL.
Glenn was born September 1, 1968, in Geneseo, IL, the son of Steven and Jacqueline Finin Hazlewood. He married Marilyn Verstraete May 21, 1993, in Rock Island.
He served in the US Army obtaining the rank of Staff Sergeant
He worked as a Transportation Supervisor at PFG, Rock Island, IL.
Glenn was proud to serve his country. He loved spending time with his family whether it was holidays, cookouts, or getting together to play cards. We can’t forget about his love of the Chicago Cubs, Bears, and Bulls, win or lose. He filled a room with laughter and left an outstanding impression on every person he met. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, great uncle with a great niece on the way, friend, and a true American Hero. His love will forever live on with all of us. Rest easy our Hero.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; daughters, Amanda Hazlewood, Bettendorf, IA, and Shelby Hazlewood (Corey Lopez), Bettendorf; siblings, Tina (Jim) Allison, Davenport, IA, John Hazlewood, Rockford, Lisa (Eric) Kelley, Geneseo, and Mark (Amy) Finin, Geneseo; several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father Steven Hazlewood, his mother Jackie Finin, and his grandmother Maxine “Mad Max” Simkins.
