James W. Cutshall

James W. Cutshall, 83, of East Moline, IL, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2023, at Friendship Manor, Rock Island, IL.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 3, 2023, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial with military honors presented by East Moline American Legion Post 227 will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Moline. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in James’ name to the Quad City Botanical Gardens or to the Missionary Fund, for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. 

James was born March 5, 1940, in Kansas City, Kansas, a son of Leonard W. and Madalyn G. (Jones) Cutshall. He married Warrena Lea Bateham on January 21, 1966, in Hanford, California. She preceded him in death on November 26, 2018.

He was a U.S. Army veteran. Following his military service, James was employed with the U.S. Postal Service, U.S. Forest Service, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

James was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, East Moline, where he held various offices in the church.

Survivors include his sons, James W. Cutshall, St. Louis, MO, and Jacob W. (Valerie) Cutshall, Troy, ID, stepdaughter, Terri Enlow, Colorado; grandchildren, Zach Cutshall, Morgan Cutshall; step granddaughter, Andrea (Travis) Holland; step great-granddaughter, Bailey Holland; siblings, Leonard Carl Cutshall and Karen Balesteri, both of California; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Warrena; daughter, Robin Cutshall; and sister, Paulette First.
