Joseph A. Pastorek, Jr.

Joseph A. Pastorek, Jr., 79, of East Moline, IL, passed away Saturday April 15, 2023.

A memorial service will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 21, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial with military honors conducted by Vietnam Veterans of America, Post 299, will be in National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made to the Lily Fund at Animal Emergency Center of the Quad Cities or ARC of the Quad Cities.

Joseph was born December 2, 1943 in Moline, Illinois, a son of Joseph Sr. and Rose Farone Pastorek. He married Cathy A. Koontz on September 3, 1982 in Moline.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and Purple Heart recipient of the Vietnam War. He was employed for 30 years for Case I.H., retiring in 1991.

Joseph was an avid fisherman and enjoyed gardening. He was also an avid Chicago Bears and Illini fan, and supporter of UTHS football and basketball.

Surviving are his wife, Cathy, of East Moline; daughter, Angela Pastorek (James Griffin), Olathe, KS; sons, Nicholas (Michelle) Pastorek, Houston, TX, and Andrew (Lauren) Pastorek, Palo, IA; grandchildren, Grayson and Mila Pastorek; and brother, Norman (Janice) Pastorek, New York City, NY.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Rena Pastorek.
