Linda S. Mullen, 74, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away Monday, March 4, 2024, at Genesis-East, Davenport.
A memorial service in her honor will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 6, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, IL, with visitation 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to Rescued, Silvis, IL.
Linda Sue McMullen was born December 8, 1949, in Canton, Illinois, the daughter of Wayne and Mildred Lamm McMullen. She first attended Rushville High School and then graduated from United Township High School and received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois in 1971. She married John G. Mullen on June 12, 1971, in East Moline.
Linda was a systems analyst at the Rock Island Arsenal for 28 years.
She enjoyed creating memory boxes for friends and family, going to craft fairs and flea markets, avid collector, playing cards and games, advocating for abused animals, always volunteering to help family and friends, and in earlier years, playing softball. Some of her favorite times were camping and traveling to Mexico, Ireland, Scotland, and other destinations with John.
Surviving are her husband, John, of Davenport; brother, Larry McMullen, Moline; nieces and nephews, Nancy (Mark) Timm, and their children, Holly Tibbitts and Ann Scow, Dianna Correll, and her daughter, Breanna Correll, John (Cris) McMullen, and their children, George and Catherine McMullen, Allen (Diane) McMullen, and their son, Josh McMullen, Lou Ann (Aziz) Talbi, and their daughter, Halima Talbi; sister-in-law, Colleen Jordan, and her children, Danele Jordan and Benjamin (Emma) Jordan, and their daughter, Mila; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles “Chuck” (Janelle) Mullen.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Paul McMullen; sisters-in-law, Sally McMullen and Ann McMullen, great nephew, Tyler Correll; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Alfred “Jack” and Joan Mullen.
