Funeral services for Pauline M. Mendoza, 81, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00AM Friday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 PM Thursday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 3:00 PM. Mrs. Mendoza died Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Clarissa Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA. Pauline Ponciano was born June 22, 1933, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Felipe and Concha Perez Ponciano. She married Angelo J. Mendoza August 18, 1956 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis, IL. Over the years she had worked for the former Buddy L. Toy Co., East Moline, The Licorice Factory, Moline, The State of IL, The Daily Dispatch, Moline and Community Savings and Loan, East Moline. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and watching Wheel of Fortune. She was an avid Chicago Bulls fan. Pauline enjoyed planting flowers in her yard and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Angelo Mendoza, East Moline; daughters, Karen Woods, Rock Island, and Annette Mendoza Burlington, IA; sons, Angelo "Duly" Mendoza, Chicago, IL, and James "Jim" Mendoza, Moline; grandchildren, Kia Mendoza, Trent Mendoza, Aaron Woods, Anissa Woods, and Mason Mendoza; 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Rose Terronez, Moline, Lucille Bernal, Perris, CA, Esther Rasso, East Moline, and Mary Rangel, Silvis; brother, Cruz "Lenny" (Kathy) Ponciano, Milan. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson; Michael Mendoza; brothers, Joe and John Ponciano; brothers-in-law, David Terronez, Roberto Bernal, and Daniel Rasso.
