Robert "Bob" D Lee

Robert D. Lee, 87, of Silvis, IL, passed away Monday March 6, 2023 at his home in Silvis.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 18, at Christ United Methodist Church, East Moline. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 17, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Memorials may be made to Kiwanis Scholarship Fund, ARC of the Quad Cities or Christ United Methodist Church.

Robert was born March 8, 1935 in Moline, Illinois, the son of Joseph and Mildred Ferman Lee. He graduated from UTHS, Class of 1953. He married Carol K. Boles on June 7, 1958 in East Moline.

He was a U.S. Army veteran. Robert retired from Kone, Moline, where he was employed for many years.

Robert was a lifelong member of Christ United Methodist Church, East Moline, and a Kiwanis Club member for 39 years. He was an avid golfer, and most proud of achieving two holes in one and playing 61 rounds where he scored under his age. Robert was a lifelong Cub’s fan.

Surviving are his wife, Carol, of Silvis; children, Susan (Chris) Mekus, East Moline, Brian (Lisa) Lee, Colona; grandchildren, Alaina Mekus, Rock Island, IL, Melissa (Korey) Wenstrup, Davenport, IA, Allison (Dustin) Miner, Pendleton, IN, and Ryan (Tori) Lee, Port Townsend, WA; great grandchildren, Sutton and Quinn Miner; and other family and friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Kathy Lee; parents; and twin sisters, Joanne Cooper and Joyce Johnson.
