Roger K. Hendrickson, 86, of East Moline, IL, passed away Friday April 28, 2023, at Allure of Moline, Moline, IL.
A memorial mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 5, 2023, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis. Interment with military honors will be at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. A rosary will be recited 4:00 p.m. Thursday, May 4, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, with visitation following from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to Honor Flight of the Quad Cities.
Roger was born October 30, 1936 in Macomb, Illinois, the son of Martin Dale Hendrickson and Ethel Fern Mason Hendrickson. He graduated from Moline High School. Roger and Dorothy A. Versluis were united in marriage on August 24, 1957 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, East Moline.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Roger was employed for 33 years with John Deere Harvester, East Moline. He retired in 1992.
He enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing, and family trips to their cabin in Minnesota.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy, of East Moline; daughters, Susan Lang, Carbon Cliff, IL, and Tamara (John) DeBisschop, Geneseo; son, Mark (Jessica) Hendrickson, Northfield, MN; grandchildren, Daniel (Jasmine) Carr, Stephen (Ashley) Carr, Emily (Travis) Boyle, Scott Lang, Lisa (Mike) Janes, Heather (Kyle) Patton, Leo DeBisschop, Lucy DeBisschop, Roger Hendrickson and Lauren Hendrickson; nine great grandchildren; brother-in-law, James Hoffman, Florida; several nieces and nephews; and other family.
Roger was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Dennis Lang; parents; sister, Joyce Hoffman; and one brother in infancy.
