Funeral services for Ronald G. Harness, 55, of Johnsburg, IL, formerly of Rock Island, IL, will be 10:30 AM Tuesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, IL. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Harness died Thursday, July 27, 2006 at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Research Foundation or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Mr. Harness was born September 30, 1950 in Moline, IL, the son of Richard and Hazel (Ragsdale) Harness Sr. He married Nancy Buckrop July 25, 1969 in East Moline, IL. Ron had been in the construction business for most of his life. He had owned and operated several businesses including Watson Harness Construction, Ziccarelli Harness Construction, and Harness Enterprises Inc. He was a sports fan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and NASCAR. In his younger years he had excelled at playing baseball. He had played baseball for the First National Bank, Rock Island and had been a Softball City All League Champion. He was a Pittsburg Steelers Fan and Chicago Cubs Fan. Survivors include: sons and daughter-in-law, Seth and Tara Harness of Moline, IL, Shane Harness of Johnsburg, IL; grandchildren, Zachary, Ashley, Kylie, and Lilly; sister and brother-in-law, Esther and Ray Youngblood of Moline, IL; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Mary Harness Jr. of Moline, IL.
