Thomas Tarbay Obituary

Thomas Tarbay, 92, of Moline, IL, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.

Private burial will be at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, IL, is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Thomas was born August 27, 1931, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, one of six children born to Frank and Mary (Kristofko) Tarbay. He married Evelyn R. Knisel on October 1, 1955 in Johnstown. She preceded him in death on March 8, 2014.

Surviving are his daughters, Dodie Hollinger, Moline, IL, and Penny (Joe) Cannella, Springfield, IL; son-in-law, Frank Kiss, Palm Bay, FL; daughter-in-law, Nina Tarbay, Roscoe, IL; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and other family.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and siblings, Helen, Dorothy, Tony, Joe and Francis.
