Memorial services for Vivian Lura Kindinger, 90, of Moline, IL, will be 4 pm Wednesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to services. Vivian passed away Saturday, September 10, 2022, in Moline.
Vivian was born October 20, 1931, to Grant and Mamie (Jones) Blandin in Herman, New York. She was the youngest of four daughters. She attended a one room schoolhouse through the 6th Grade sometimes being the only one in her class. After graduation she attended a Business School in Syracuse and later worked at Syracuse University and General Electric. She met her husband Edward through her sisters and friends. They married in 1953 and lived in a remote area of Taberg, New York. Eventually having seven children, the second child, Tara, died when she was 3. In 1966 they moved to Orion IL where Vivian enjoyed raising children and having coffee clutches with her neighbors. After living in Orion for 10 years they moved to Alb., N.M. where Vivian happily lived at the foot of the mountains for 3 years. They moved back to IL until Ed's retirement when they moved around a bit. Vivian settled down in E.Moline after Ed's death. Vivian is survived by six children: Deborah Ferguson, Ed Kindinger, Pam Gilbert, Pat Boynton, Mary Whitmarsh and Paula Kindinger-Wilcox, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and her sister, Ruth Peters. She always had a bag of homemade chocolate chip cookies ready for anyone who was hungry and all of her children wore some of her home sewn clothes.
Vivian's husband, Ed, was a Member of the 10th Mountain Ski Troops in the Army, he died in 1995 and is buried in Santa Fe National Cemetery where Vivian will be buried beside him.
