Beverly Jean Roden, 84, long time Colona (Green Rock) resident, passed away at her winter home in Mesa, AZ, on December 5, 2021. Visitation is from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Monday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Funeral services are 11 am Tuesday, December 14 at the funeral home. Services will also be live-streamed at http://www.facebook.com/vanhoefuneralhome . Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Moline Church of Christ where she was a member for over 60 years.

The former Beverly Jean Lindley was born May 26, 1937 in Moline to Delmar and Alice (Preston) Lindley. She was raised by her mother and step-father, Fred B. Leonard. She graduated from United Township High School and married James "T" Roden on September 17, 1955 in Colona. He preceded her in death on March 11, 2014. Mrs. Roden was a stay at home mom for 20 years until she went to work in the kitchen at Colona Grade School from 1976 until 1996. She was fondly referred to as "The Lunch Lady". She and "T" enjoyed snow-birding in Mesa since 2004 where they made many good friends. After her loss, she continued snow-birding in Mesa. Beverly was known for her "front porch sitting" and going for walks. She enjoyed writing letters, sending cards, and reading, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children, Cindy (Pat) Burke, Mesa, Denise (Brian) Keegan, Matthews, NC and Jamie (Jim) Olson, Ramsey, MN, grandchildren, Jim Burke, Aaron Burke, Hannah (James) De La Riva, Slater Keegan, Brooke (Jeff) Wuollet, and Austin Olson (Special friend Sydney Ernst), great-granddaughters, Maylin Gail, Stella Marie and Myla James De La Riva, son-in-law Randy Minor and sister-in-law, JoAnn Roden.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, daughter, Pam Minor and brother, Richard "Dick" (Kathy) Leonard.
